Ek Pradarshini 2018

Ek Pradarshini 2018 is a creative attempt to showcase some of the best scientists our country has produced. These scientists are an eclectic mix, who have showcased their talent in fields ranging from biology to nuclear science. They belong to different parts of India, with a background as diverse as the country itself. But, what unites them is their passion for science and the impact their contributions have had on the society. And of course, this is not an exhaustive list.

A key hallmark of all these scientists’ work is their belief that science is global, without boundaries. At some point in their life, they have either been trained, collaborated, or even practiced their science in countries beyond India, with people across the world. For some, their Indian education has laid a firm foundation for their later success. For others, the skills learnt elsewhere have inspired them to apply those back home. Some of the scientists featured in this creative collection have also worked during the pre-independence era, under conditions very different from today, and yet brought out their best.

The ultimate objective of Ek Pradarshini 2018 is to bring out these inspiring tales. It is a humble effort to let the world know of the great work of these scientists, some well-known and others not so well-known. It is also aimed at giving a peek into their lives and times, and motivate the audience to learn more about them. The list will grow on including many more who are constantly pursuing the frontiers of knowledge.
